A Look at PMI’s Thought Leadership Series

A Certified Public Accountant, Brenda Roberts is an experienced audit executive, currently working as a Project Manager at RGP. A resident of Oakland, California, Brenda Roberts is pursuing certification with the Project Management Institute (PMI).

PMI brings together professionals in the project management space, providing them with access to leading-edge knowledge and resources to better their practice. One of the organization’s initiatives is the Thought Leadership Series.

PMI’s Thought Leadership Series reports on the diverse trends affecting project managers across various industries. It draws on the results of the institute’s annual Pulse of the Profession study, which surveys thousands of project professionals and hundreds of senior executives, identifying the major issues and trends affecting project completion. Once it is clear which issues are most affecting the profession, PMI’s team studies each one and releases educational guides to assist managers in their project and portfolio management. These guides are organized into series.

Currently, PMI has several series on its website. They include a disruptive technologies series that highlights how organizations can manage the effects of disruptive technologies, and a benefits realization management series that guides professionals in creating sustainable and lasting value. There is also a talent management series that gives insights on formalizing talent management practices to power strategic growth.
